In 2014 I was gifted one of those expensive hand made artists books by a very special friend. In the past, attempts to fill such books with 'wonderful' drawings have failed and I have cheated and always torn out pages that did not live up to my expectations. I decided that this time I would not rip any pages out and actually fill the book over the next few years if not sooner. So here are the first 9 pages -the good, the not so good or bad depending on who is looking.
In Memory of Val 'Industrial Across the Bay' -monoprint 2015. Inspired by observations and sketches of Corio Bay Geelong
Check out my other New Work for 2015 . I am using my new Caligo Safe Wash inks and loving them, they are easy to work with and cleaning up is as easy as it gets -you just use detergent and then warm water. The inks dry well and suit my multi-plate techniques. This new monoprint utilizes an aluminum plate which I first engrave and draw into with dry point tools. It is printed on Somerset satin white hot pressed 300gm paper. |
AuthorI am an artist & printmaker. I live in the Grampians region Victoria, Australia. My art, in particular printmaking is a key focus in my life and sustains me through many difficult days and nights due to a condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, see my website www.crps247.com. I believe art nourishes the soul and enriches our lives, something that material wealth fails to do. Archives
